Screen Flickering? What to Check

Check display cable seating, graphics settings, refresh-rate configuration and whether flicker occurs outside the browser. Try an external monitor when available.

Before you begin

Start with reversible settings checks. Keep your device supported and powered safely. Do not force connectors, open sealed batteries or try high-voltage repair steps.

How to troubleshoot the problem

  1. 01

    Identify the symptom

Reproduce the problem and note whether it happens in one application or across the whole device.

  2. 02

    Check the basic settings

Check display cable seating, graphics settings, refresh-rate configuration and whether flicker occurs outside the browser. Try an external monitor when available.

  3. 03

    Compare another application or device

Use a second compatible app, browser or device to narrow down whether the issue follows the hardware.

  4. 04

    Retest before changing more

A browser refresh-rate estimate cannot diagnose every cause of flicker.

RETEST / VERIFY

Check the result.

A browser refresh-rate estimate cannot diagnose every cause of flicker.

When to get professional help

If the same problem occurs in multiple compatible applications or devices after safe checks, follow the manufacturer's exact support instructions or ask a qualified repair professional. A browser test cannot prove every hardware component is healthy.
